Our Government.
Im sorry to inform you folks, it hasn’t been our government for a while now.
More on that later.
I’m up this Sunday morning having my coffee and reading the latest news online. And it distress me. The guys and girls in Congress are about to pass (through shenanigans and back room dealery (what ever happened to transparency?) the Health Care Reform Act.
Fully one sixth of the economy will now be under the control of our “representatives” in d.c. along with Chrysler, GM and most of the Banks.
When did it become necessary for government to take over an industry to fix it. More importantly, when did we as citizens become so god damn lazy that we let them do it.
A majority of the people believed the “HOPE and CHANGE” rhetoric coming from the candidate Obama, we’ve sure seen the “change”.
I wonder how they feel now?
Oh I’m sure many are dancing in the streets and celebrating for this great “victory”, all the while scoffing at the “uninformed” who opposed such a take over.
There are also those who are more than a little disappointed in his governance.
I wont use the “S” word…o.k. I will… It all smacks of Socialism.
There is a divide in the Country. And it is getting deeper.
The folks in d.c. just keep handing out shovels and wondering why all the discord.
In this respect no one party is less guilty than the other.
With very few exceptions, the whole bunch are guilty as hell. Guilty of not following the will of the people, guilty of bending over for the Lobbyist, guilty of just being Jerks.
I know its not against the law to be a jerk, if it were most of the people on the highway would be behind bars, but why do we keep putting them in such places of power and control over our lives?
Im ranting now, and that wasn’t my purpose. That third cup of coffee must be kicking in.
This government has just really let me down. Both Democrats and Republicans.
Short of winning the lottery and heading off to a remote spot in the Hill Country, I, like the rest of you will just have to deal with it.
I hope my friends who support this type of thing enjoy the day. Revel in your victory over the unwashed and ill-informed masses.
Just remember, November is right around the corner,……. and we can send a whole new crop of Jerks out to do our bidding.
