iPhone vs. Android…Aggghhhhh.
Those of you who know him, know my dad has an iphone. Along with most things Apple.
It wasn’t always so. There was a time, not too long ago when he traveled the dark path.
Do in no small part by me, he finally crossed over into the LIGHT.
Now over the years I have grown weary of all things “techno”. Mostly due to my work which keeps me on all sorts of computers, cell phones and GPS devices.
But recently I have started to come back into the fold, so to speak.
We recently upgraded to a new imac at the house and those long lost feelings of enjoyment using a machine have returned.
Now it was time to upgrade the old cell phone.
I really wanted the iphone but in case you didn’t know, AT&T sucks as far a coverage goes.
I needed (I thought) all the extra doo dads that the new phones have available so I chose to go with the new Android on a Samsung phone. The latest and greatest. With all the doo dads and scores of doo dads available online.
Of course, the idea behind getting a new phone was it helps make my day easier, more organized and less cluttered.
You know where this is going don’t ya.
Now it seems every spare moment is searching out the latest app or “playing with the apps already downloaded or trying just how to work the stupid thing.
Its cool and trick but I think we’ve got side tracked, it’s supposed to be a phone.
I downloaded a new thing a ma bob yesterday that will compose e-mail and text messages by speaking into the phone….cool… then on the other end the receiver can read or hear the message….. does this sound familiar?
That’s right. We have gone full circle in our technology. Instead of just picking up the phone and placing a call, now we can speak a text and send it to the person we want to and…wait a minute… that IS just like using a phone except there’s not really a conversation taking place.
Without a REAL conversation there is no real exchange, no emotion, only data.
Hmmm. I wonder if the government is behind this….
Obama..Google..
Google.. Obama..
Could be….
