It’s a beautiful Easter Morning. A cool breeze and overcast. The local birds in the yard are loving it. The local Pastor down the street, probably not so much. Sunrise Service on a cloudy day doesn’t have the theatrical effect it’s designed to. But the faithful don’t mind. A truly faithful person doesn’t need theatrics to be close to his/her creator.
I think it was Thomas who some two thousand years ago wrote, (i’m paraphrasing to be sure), The house of the Lord is in the heart of man, not in buildings of wood and stone. If I’m wrong on this I’m sure I will soon find out, but I’m pretty sure I’ve got the intent right. I’ll bet that was close to heresy back then. Maybe even today.I grew up in the church. Mostly small country Churches all across Texas. Three time a week, every week. More during the Holidays. I didn’t mind. It’s what I knew. It’s what I was taught to do and believe. Many if not all of those beliefs I still carry with me today. The surroundings are a bit different though. A cool quite morning, with the wind in the trees and Sparrows and BlueJays scrapping over seed; a long country road, no traffic, just me and two wheels and everything surrounding me., That’s a church of sorts .
At least those are the times I feel a closeness. Heresy…I don’t think so.

Happy Easter
Well Jodon, happy easter to you. Sunny and 52? here in the great state of Maine. Good day for some yard clean up. And I’ve been to church enough for several lifetimes. Better to have been fishing on most of those days.
