I’ve been thinking about writing this post for quite some time now.

Like most of you, I have a presence on FaceBook, Twitter and Instagram. It’s easy and convenient. Having platforms that everyone can access, can see and respond to your posts is cool and oddly empowering.

And that seems to be the problem. Social Media companies fool us into thinking we are in control. We are not. The social media oligarchs are pulling the/our strings.

Additionally, censorship by the tech giants is out of hand in my opinion. Previously, pornography, threats of violence etc. did not meet their community standards. Now it seems political thought the “ fact checkers” disagree with measures up to the same standard as death threats and porn!

I’ve had enough. I’m done with Twitter. I’m done with Facebook as well but because of certain obligations from work, I’m not able to completely toss it away. I WILL NOT be posting directly to FB any longer. I may share to their platform post from this page and Parler but from this point forward my “social presence “ will be on this page, Parler and possibly MeWe.
