Mid-Week Puppy 🐶 Tail

Cuteness Overload

Getting a call from GBGRR is always interesting.

It seems these siblings needed a lift from Bridge City to Houston.

So here we go. We’ve been warned, “y’all are picking up three and you better deliver three!” All in good fun , but we grudgingly agreed.

An easy trip and the babies mainly slept the entire trip,…after a bit of whining 😢

“Are you sure we can’t take them home?” “ Yes Alice, we promised,,” 😇

So the two sisters and their brother are off to the fosters to begin their new adventure with GBGRR . Adopting these kids won’t be a problem 😉

Another Saturday-Another Rescue

Joey

Say hello to Joey. Today Joey got his freedom ride to the fosters.

See, I ride great!

Joey’s family was overwhelmed and wasn’t sure they could give him the attention a young pup like him needs, so off we went.

Who is dis fella with the whiskers

His new foster home has 5 goldens and a three legged terrier, oh, and a cat!

Once he has seen the vet and been throughly checked out, he be up for adoption on the GBGRR site. Good luck on your new journey!

Milo’s day

It started with a call from GBGRR. Could we get to louisana to transport a pup.

Of course we said yes.

A young mother in Louisana was having to surrender her Golden. Through no fault of her own, her situation had changed and she felt the best option for Milo was our rescue group

So, off we go with a meeting place and time agreed upon. Meeting Milo it was obvious he was well cared for and well mannered. It was really tough on the owner. Tears all around. Finally we load up all his toys, treats and bed and head off to Houston.

A really good boy!

In Houston, we meet another volunteer for the final leg of his journey

And finally he makes it to his new foster home. He will have plenty of new Goldens to play with and soon, after proper vetting and appraisal, Milo will be up for permanent adoption through the GBGRR website.

All in all, a great Saturday.

Finally the end of a very long day. Check out that Golden smile 🙂

1983

‘83 was quite the year.

Regan was in charge, gas was $1.20 and Michael Jackson was on the FM with Thriller. And not to be outdone, Alice FINALLY (after a year and a half) said yes and we were married.

July 30th 1983

It was one hell of a blow out. In Vickie and Al’s backyard, surrounded by friends and a rowdy Old English Sheepdog! It was epic! If I remember, we were the last to leave. Youth does have its advantages 😉

Through the good times and the tough, we stood together, leaning on the strength of each other.

Some thought it would never last, I guess we’ll have the last laugh!

Happy Anniversary to us and to the love of my life, my only regret is we didn’t marry sooner ❤️
