Day three and the ride home

Early on I knew Curtis, “the roadwarrior” liked to ride. This guy has a knowledge of roads that is simply amazing. If you want to get somewhere, anywhere, he knows a back way there.

So our third day started with a conversation with Curtis.

It was decided to take a spin up to a cool little resturant-pottery shop-aviary near Kerrville called Daves Place. The ride was good. Lots of beautiful landscapes and country roads. The resturant was interesting. The food was…. Lame. The place itself was really neat. right on the river. The ride back was long and beautiful. We criss crossed the LBJ ranch at least 3 times and finally found our way back to Luckenbauch in time for a rootbeer and some live music. Yes I said roodbeer, we are on motorcycles ya know.

We finally got back to San Marcos around 6:30 in the evening. A really long day. Alice opted to ride with me and her knees paid the price. We spent the evening resting up and getting ready for the ride home after a few cold beers and some good Mexican food..yummmm.

Sunday.

Up early. Picked up a couple of riders from the chapter who were ready to split so off we went. Breakfast at the Waffel House then Up 35 to 290 to 105 and home. Uneventful and nice.

Got home around 1pm and cleaned up the bikes and now its off to bed. Even with the poor rally event ( it really was a joke) the riding in the hill country was great. Alice did so great. I am so impressed. Maybe someday we’ll even tell willie
