Day 5 and 6 —-The End

The last two days of the ride were both uneventful and exciting. The trip home started out calmly enough, then, when passing a Semi, one of the tires on the trucks trailer blew out!
I’ve always wondered what that would be like. Now I know. SCARY.
Rubber went flying everywhere. We were cool and passed without an issue. We did have to stop sooner than expected so we could all catch our breath and change our drawers.

The weather could not have been better if we had planned it. It rained all around us but we only saw sprinkles on the way to New Orleans.
After a night in the Big Easy it was a straight shot back home.
Got back in time to clean the bikes and cut the grass…. had a beverage and laid on the couch instead. Good choice.
I wish we had more time and spent more of the trip on the back roads. The Trace was fantastic and we will surely go back to finish that part of the ride.
The photo’s are of the mileage for the trip on our two bikes. Alice’s is a little less because she rode two up with me in Chattanooga. Still, after it’s all said and done, I’m ready to head right back out and go again.
Must be some sort of disorder.

Day 4 Dickel and look out !

A ride to a distillery seem like a good idea, And it was.The interstate is like riding the hill country of Texas, just with four lanes. Really wild.
The Distillery was pretty cool. no fee? samples though…dry county.
Then it was off to Look Out Mountain and Ruby Falls.
They call it Look Out Mountain cause when you fly off the side….. LOOK OUT!!!
Very twisty and narrow. the Falls were great. 1000' down in an elevator then 1/2 a mile walk in the caves to the most spectacular water fall we have ever seen. Sadly the shots of the water fall didn't come out. Tom was taking some so if I get them I'll post them later.
Now Mexican food is in order and packing up for the hustle to N.O..
More later

Day 3- Part 3

This is the sad part of the story

Poor david decided to have the old girl "tuned".

New dual exaust and air cleaner with a dyno tune.

This is all great except for one thing…. Horspower cost.

Never mind how much.. just enjoy the pictures.

Alice looks excited though… doesn't she?

Day 3- Part Two

It rained and rained. Then it thundered and thundred. One thing is a constant–

no matter where you are, Houston, Beaumont, or Tennesse, when it rains, and its at night and your in an unfaviliar town, people in cars drive like assholes.

Made it (home) just fine and just a little wet.

Grenada, Ms.

Well we made it this far.

472 miles in one piece. A really long day. Here are a few pics from the start early in the morning to the natchez trace to mississippi.

the jury is still out on tomorrow… back roads or highways. I’ll let everyone have a vote in the morning over breakfast and we will see.

we had a swim at the hotel and now everyone is crashing… i’m not far behind.

more tomorow when we get to Chattanooga…. yehhaaa.
