Our President wins the Nobel Peace Prize….?

Please.. Someone Explain this one to me.

To quote the Nobel Committee,” for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.”  Huh?

They go on to say he has captured the Worlds attention..

Did I miss something?  Have I been too preoccupied and just didn’t notice.

Gosh, maybe the timing of this will help get his health care “reform” passed.

The Nobel committee is caught up in The Politics of good intentions.. Feel good policies..I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, I mean AlGore won for his stand on Global Warming, oops, I mean climate change. You know we’re not supposed to use Global Warming any more. Too restrictive you know.

‘American Ride’ Video – Toby Keith – AOL Music

Ok. I know what you are thinking.
Yet I like Toby Keith. He doesn’t take a lot of crap and say’s what’s on his mind (all done with a since of humor).
Besides, It’s ok if we don’t agree, we still have free speech
….for now.

I came across a few more pictures from the Texas State H.O.G. rally.

The first is of our Group at Alamo Springs Cafe. A great place with fantastic food.

The second one is us getting ready to head out from the hotel. Then there are a few of yours truly. I kind of like the pink bandana…

Fall is in the Air

The temp today just barely hit 85. How I love the hint of fall in the air. Marsh fires are burning, making way for new growth in the spring. The Aligators are moving oh so slowly, looking for that mound of mud or a levee to hunker down in for the winter, and the color change, such a brilliant display of greens and greens and….

No worrys, Winter will be here soon enough and we will slosh through 60days of cold (40’s) weather and then spring will be here again.

Thank God.

Day three and the ride home

Early on I knew Curtis, “the roadwarrior” liked to ride. This guy has a knowledge of roads that is simply amazing. If you want to get somewhere, anywhere, he knows a back way there.

So our third day started with a conversation with Curtis.

It was decided to take a spin up to a cool little resturant-pottery shop-aviary near Kerrville called Daves Place. The ride was good. Lots of beautiful landscapes and country roads. The resturant was interesting. The food was…. Lame. The place itself was really neat. right on the river. The ride back was long and beautiful. We criss crossed the LBJ ranch at least 3 times and finally found our way back to Luckenbauch in time for a rootbeer and some live music. Yes I said roodbeer, we are on motorcycles ya know.

We finally got back to San Marcos around 6:30 in the evening. A really long day. Alice opted to ride with me and her knees paid the price. We spent the evening resting up and getting ready for the ride home after a few cold beers and some good Mexican food..yummmm.

Sunday.

Up early. Picked up a couple of riders from the chapter who were ready to split so off we went. Breakfast at the Waffel House then Up 35 to 290 to 105 and home. Uneventful and nice.

Got home around 1pm and cleaned up the bikes and now its off to bed. Even with the poor rally event ( it really was a joke) the riding in the hill country was great. Alice did so great. I am so impressed. Maybe someday we’ll even tell willie

Day 2.. The ride and rally

What a day.
The ride to lunch was great. Beautiful scenery and curvy roads. I am so proud of Alice. The roads we took today were very chalenging and she handled them like a pro.
We had the best Hamburger ever at this little place on Old route 9 out side of Fredricksburg. OUt by the famous bat tunnel.
Hauled ass back into town, about 2 hours, and crashed,….for about 10 minutes, then out to the rally site.
This year the rally is a little lame. Very vew vendors and not much going on. I guess the local riding makes up for the lack of activities.
Tonight is still up in the air. We may just hang out at the pool and enjoy the evening. Here are the pics.
