Ok. We are back from the Bikini Bar. Sorry, no pictures.
The ride today was fine. The rain did show up, yet it was a slow affair without hindering our navagation too much. We took back roads the entire way and finally got to the hotel at 3:30…. in a driving rain…I had taken the rain gear off 30 ninutes earlier so guess who got soaked. The pics are Alice and our lunch destination in RoundTop. And our trusty steeds resting for the night.

Everything started out great. It was a cool morning and very little trafific.
First stop, Sour Lake for gas. Then off to Mosshill for breakfast.
more later Boyd just came by the room and is forcing us to go to the local night spot.

Not long now and we are on our way.

 Its really not that long of a trip, 250 miles or so, its just the idea of getting out and away on the bikes. Away from here and out to the hill country.

By car the trip would only take 4 to 5 hours. We seem to stretch that out some when on the scooters. The plan is to leave at 6:30 in the morning and eat lunch in Round Top. Then on to LaGrange then Lockhart and San Marcus getting to the Hotel sometime before 5. We will see. No ones wearing a watch. We’ll be on “scooter time”. ya get tired, ya stop.  ya get hungry, ya eat.   ya got to poop,….well you get the idea.

Hump-day..Halfway…It’s down hill the rest of the way…

These don’t seem to help. Its still Wednesday, the absolute longest day of the week. Worse yet, we still have a week to go before the Ride to San Marcus. That will be fun. Bad weather or fine, it doesn’t matter. It’s all about the ride. The destination isn’t really all that important, although the State Rally should be a good time.

I will post some pics and maybe a video or two during the trip. Must be careful though, operating a camera and a Harley at the same time, is challenging.

Took the fairing off ole yeller. I kept hearing a rattle up front. I know, its a Harley, I shouldn’t be surpised. But it bothered me so off it came. Had to go pick up a few doodads at the HD shop and the plan is to button her up in the morning. Can’t have here going around Topless you know.

Well, as promised, the weather is wet. No Hurricane. Not even a decent Tropical Storm. Just rain. I started two projects today and finished just one. But that one really turned out good. The neighbor and I finished up with his “free fan”.Free is relative. Sure the fan itself came from the Drycleaners and we gave it to him, that much was free. But all the lumber,paint, molding and hardware, well, that worked out to about three hundered. Hell, what are friends for. Besides, without the fan, motor,frame and bits, all we would have is a nice box on wheels.

Sitting of the patio, cup of Seaport with all three pups for company. Alice is off checking on her mom. Just got off the phone with dad up in Maine. It really is a good Morning.

A motorcycle ride seems to be in order. Maybe up to comesneil, tx for chicken fried steak. mmmm.
